i have officially lived in colorado for a month now, and i am loving it more and more every day. max is here now, and i am starting to get into my regular schedule. it's a rainy day today, so i figured what better to do then watch EDWARD SCISSORHANDS on tv, and update my blog. i havent seen this movie in ages, but it definitely reminds me of just how creepy johnny depp is! i can't wait for the new alice in wonderland movie to come out! i have a feeling it will be the peak of his creepiness.
anyways, i have three weeks left in the CORE program at school, then, assuming i pass my tests, i get to start taking guests! crazy! after that it's just about 11 months till i am done! i am thinking about interning at max's school, and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with their theatre departments. we had a guest speaker last week, james ryder, (rydermakeuplabs.com) and he talked a lot about the cosmetology industry outside of just working in a salon and how interning can be key in getting you certain jobs. it was inspiring! james does makeup for reese witherspoon, katie holmes, and scarlett johnason! so it was very cool to meet him and get to listen to some of his tips. he taught us how to do golden globe eyes in 20 seconds!.. see what i mean? school is fun! all the time.
cutting week this week, and then after that it is spa week! facials, nails and waxing (eeek!) here i come!

Times a changin'

I had a friend today ask me if I couldn't just stay in one spot. haha.
I have so much I want to see/do, I don't think that idea is going to work out for me. My ultimate goal is to marry someone with lots of money that won't have to work, and then we can just travel the world together. But seeing as how I doubt that plan will work out in my favor, my funding will soon be cut off and I will have to stay in the same place for a long time and work. So until that happens- there is no telling where I will be from one year to the next. :)
Anyways, I just completed my first week of school in Colorado Springs at PM, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! School is so much fun. My teacher has all sorts of cool learning techniques, and we literally take about five minutes of notes and then get to go try it on either our mannequin heads or each other! I already have so many ideas of what I want to do with my hair, but we aren't allowed to do our hair until we graduate from CORE (the first 6 weeks of class) so now it's just a countdown till I actually get to do it!
My roommate and I have been trying a couple different churches. Church shopping is stressful. So far we tried the infamous New Life Church (owned by Focus on the Family) and then Underground Church. Both were okay, but nothing I can see myself really fitting at. So the search continues!
Between school, learning my way around, church shopping and making new friends I have been so busy! Back to school tomorrow, but I just thought it was time to get back into the habit of blogging.
Until Next time.

veg head.

this time next week I will be home in fayetteville! only four finals to get thru and then i am home free..

i had a very fun, but quick trip to csprings.. it rained all weekend while i was there, and then the rain followed me home to stillwater. i am getting really sick of it. i think it's true what people say about rain making you depressed. just last week the campus was buzzing and now its zombie land! there were always so many people laying out on library lawn, playing frisbee, bike riding, etc, and now everyone, including myself, has cooped up. i think it is making finals that much more miserable!

i am excited to be home this summer and:
-spend time with the fam and old friends
-ride my new bike! (see pics below!!)
-work at camp (going to be a crazy, draining, new experience)
-relax on the beach for a couple weeks
-eat penguin eds, tims, flying burrito, common grounds, drink arsagas and have a few snow cones
-but more importantly, eat mom's food that has not been MASS PRODUCED by our lovely cook Luellen.
-see max once a week or so. (this will be VERY nice/very weird! )
-be around the church with all the exciting new things going on
-annnd research natural foods and their uses.

i have been on this kick lately of "superfoods." tonight i sat at hastings and skimmed "The New Whole Foods Encyclopedia" (as well as "Skinny Bitch." PLEASE read simply for humors sake.) I plan on doing some research and getting my dad on board with keeping more natural foods at our house. he is still on his diet kick, so it shouldnt be too hard.

anyone ever thought about being a vegetarian? let me know what you think. i ate dinner with three vegetarians last weekend in colorado, and then spent the night with my vegetarian friend here this week. its on my mind!

amos lee

so marleyfest was a success! we had a great time, and i really enjoyed austin. my roommate often refers to it as "fayetteville on crack," and now i can agree. the farmer's market there put ours to shame! my flower headbands got a lot of compliments, but normally from people with equally as obnoxious things in their hair as well. :)

this weekend i am heading to colorado springs to pick up my NEW BIKE! max has been busy this semester rebuilding a schwinn cruiser bike for me at "work" (sounds like a tough job, right?)! it is emerald green, with wide handle bars, and complete with a silver basket on the front. it's my dream bike, and i am SO INCREDIBLY excited! we are going to ride over to garden of the gods, which i am really excited about as well, because i havent been there yet!
i will have to post pictures of the bike and the adventure. i have become quite the traveler lately, and with this i've started this new thing where anytime i go anywhere to visit i write down cool restaurants/stores/coffee shops, etc that i go to. maybe someday i can compile them into something legit!

three weeks left in freshman year!!! then hair school here i come! ahhhh!!!! (think they'll let me wear my obnoxious headbands there?:))

ps: amos lee=new favorite! check him out! the song night train is pretty good. (especially you, jordan! i know we've been looking for a new artist!)

april showers

april is here! i love spring- the flowers, the holidays, the sun. i love how everyone is outside enjoying the weather (not so much today considering it is 54 and raining:(() but none-the-less
i have spent the majority of my free time outside lately and i LOVE it! this weekend was really relaxing. there werent many people in stillwater so my roommate and i had the run of the town. i kind of missed being in fayetteville with the fam. i was most disappointed about missing out on moms green bean cassarole, but i heard she didnt even make it (thank goodness!) but she said kim and nick and the lefforges were there to celebrate, so i missed the company for sure.
melody and i had  nice easter lunch at panera. my parents found this kind of comical. welcome to college life.

anyways, this weekend i am going to austin, tx for marley fest and to hang out at melody's house. i am really excited to hear some good music and hang out in the sun. its already 80 degrees there apparently!

i made these headbands for melody and i to wear this weekend, and just because ive been dying to make stuff lately. i am excited to see how they turn out. i figure if there would be a place to wear them this would be it.

i think its my new goal to find the most obnoxious things to wear in my hair.
let the games begin!

Break of Spring

I am so thankful for spring break right now. Nothing is better than starbucks and braums in one day- topped off with watching Twilight. Let the gluttony begin.
So the list for today is my bucket list. Everyone has one, whether it be mental or written down..

2. travel lots and lots- specifically africa, fiji, india, and greece.
3. get dreadlocks
4. own a salon
5. see celine dion in concert
6. live in austin, maine, and colorado
7. paint a large painting that i realllllly like
